The Waterside Theatre was built in 2001 and was proven beyond valuable to its local community. The theatre delivers children’s theatre, drama, comedy, music and therapy classes for all. Waterside theatre also has a number of ongoing projects, such as the Intergeneration Project that aims to combat issues like isolation, and the Diversity Project that tackles issues like hate crime.
The theatre holds up to 372 visitors, with a full-screen cinema, coffee shop/bar, on-site car-park and disabled access. It’s the ideal venue for entertainment with the family or even hosting a private event!
The theatre also contains the Cascade Gallery which has over 32 metres of space for hanging. The gallery tends to showcase work from local artists such as Samantha Robinson, Tracey O’Neil, Fiona Higgins and various community organisations and schools.
Upcoming events include Lennon Retrospective – a 2-hour show displaying John Lennon’s best-loved songs, Sir Ian McKellen’s Season Walter, The Chain and Interactive Introverts – Dan and Phil.
