Christmas in Derry

There is plenty to see and do in Derry during the festive season.

The Christmas light switch-on takes place on Thursday 22nd November. This annual event is fantastic for all the family and kick starts the festive season. More information can be found here.

From Friday, November 23 to Sunday, November 25 there will be a craft fair at the Guildhall and this will be followed with the Walled City Market on Saturday, December 1.

The Christmas Market will run from Thursday, December 13 to Sunday, December 17 and will include a bar serving ‘craft and artisan drinks’.

Meanwhile, the Mayor’s Christmas programming will run from Saturday, December 8 to Sunday, December 9 and will see the main hall in the Guildhall transformed into what was described at the meeting as ‘an atmospheric and mysterious winter fairy-tale will surprise and delight audiences of all ages’.

    Does the hotel have car parking?

    Parking is limited and is on a first come first served basis. If there is no parking available we can redirect you to alternative parking.

    We are located inside the historic City Walls of Derry just off Butcher Gate on Butcher Street.

    Are you close to local transport?

    Yes, Maldron Hotel Derry is within walking distance to the local bus centre, one mile away from Derry-Londonderry Railway Station and five miles away from Derry Airport.

    What time is check-in?

    Check-in is 3.00pm on the day of arrival.

    What time is check-out?

    Check-out is 12.00pm on the day of departure.

    What is the smoking policy?

    We are a strictly non-smoking hotel. This also includes e-cigarettes.

    What time is breakfast served?

    Breakfast is served between 7am to 10am Monday to Friday and from 7.30am to 10.30am Saturday and Sunday.

    How do I manage my booking?

    All reservations made on maldronhotelderry.com or maldronhotels.com can click here to manage the reservation.

    Bookings made via third party websites must be cancelled through them.

    What is the cancellation policy?

    Maldron Hotel Derry offers free cancellation up to 12 noon day prior to arrival for almost all reservations made on maldronhotels.com or maldronhotelderry.com. Some special offers and key dates may specify a special cancellation policy, these will be clearly outlined in the terms & conditions.

    Reservations booked via third party websites and online travel agents have their own cancellation policies, please refer to your confirmation email.
